Wheel-Throwing Basics

Duration: 4 weeks, 2h / week Level: Beginners Group: Max 8 wheels Price: $145

The wheel looks like magic until week two — then it clicks. This four-evening course takes you from a wobbling lump to a shelf of bowls you actually want to eat from.

Each session pairs a short demo with long stretches of guided practice: centering and opening in week one, pulling walls in week two, trimming feet in week three, and glazing everything in week four. With only eight wheels, an instructor is never more than a glance away.

What’s included

  • Four 2-hour evening sessions with the same small group
  • 10 lbs of stoneware clay, tools, glazes and both kiln firings
  • A finished set of 4–6 glazed bowls and cups to take home
  • One open-studio practice hour between sessions

“I signed up on a dare and stayed for three courses. My kitchen shelves are now 90% bowls I made.” — Daniel K., four-week course graduate
